  1. Debs, this sounds wonderful! Putting yourself first definitely doesn’t mean the end of the world! I have been making extra effort to do family things and that has made my writing/blogging harder but it is really positive for me and everyone else too. I’m constantly working in achieving the right balance. I love your idea to help individuals, don’t forget that individuals are what makes up society, so you might find bigger changes happening anyway.

Oh Alice, you have played a role in this. Recommending Renee’s book and some of your own posts made me think a lot. Thanks for your lovely comments, it means a lot xxx

Absolutely loved reading this. There’s a reason they tell you to put your own mask on first in the event of a plane crash, at the end of the day if we end up broken it’s no good for anyone. Good for you for putting yourself first.

As for FOMO, I think it’s a huge problem for a lot of people. Stepping back and not being afraid to say no takes real courage.

This was a great first post for me to read here Debs, I will definitely be back 🙂

Renee, your book was read during that weekend in Torquay – I need to update the post to reflect that too. Will update in the morning and share links to your site.

Thank you for your comment, having such great feedback from someone I admire is a great way to end the day.

      Have a great weekend.

Have updated the post to reflect the part your book played in the weekend of Choosing Myself. Sorry it took me so long, Easter holidays are always fun but take me away from my desk.

  3. Oh I have the FOMO too. But hopefully balanced with a good sense of needing to protect myself from a breakdown… Like you, what I enjoy most is helping other people. So if you need anyone to come and speak with you, just ask! Good luck with your new path and thanks for all the work you have put into the SNJ team, which has of course helped us all along the way xx

Thanks Steph, I am definitely working on getting that balance sorted. Watch this space as I keep trying new ways to get that balance. Any tips would, of course, be welcome.
